“Our community wouldn’t be as rich without the relationships we’ve built in these classes.”
After getting married in October of 2018, Mike and Nancy Lee found a local church and started attending regularly. Although, they never quite felt “at home.” After visiting Bethel, they said “we connected with more people on that 1st Sunday than we did in the entire last year at our previous church.” Nancy says that she was drawn towards Dr. Prince’s teaching style and his focus on discipleship and the Bible, as well as the welcoming atmosphere and friendliness of those around the building.
Fast forward, Mike and Nancy have now been attending Bethel for about 4 years. Over those years they’ve attended many different blocks classes, and in all those classes, Mike and Nancy always seem to leave with at least 1 thing – a new friend. No matter the subject of the class, marriage, finance, exegetical, they always manage to build community in these classes. Mike says “Our community wouldn’t be as rich without the relationships we’ve built in these classes.” After moving from Chicago to Evansville to marry Mike, Nancy knew what it was like to rebuild community from the ground up. “I experienced that – not knowing many people, and it can get lonely.” Nancy says that’s why she places a high value on community. “Having that community around you that prays with you and prays for you is invaluable.” And one of the best ways to build that community is through Blocks classes.
